The Borage oil found in Salk’s Diabetic Hand and Body Lotion is extracted from the seeds of the borage plant, Borago Officinalis, a wildflower commonly known as the blue starflower. The borage plant contains 24% gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an anti-inflammatory.  The borage plant is the richest known source of GLA, and borage oil has been used for thousands of years for its medicinal qualities.
